STUF United Fund handed out the Filantrop International Awards at a charitable cooperation dinner on October 2, attended by some 200 people.

Speaking at the ceremony, Former Vice President Chen Chien-jen praised STUF for its efforts in bringing together the energies of Taiwanese businesspeople everywhere to do global charity work. Through philanthropy, STUF makes Taiwan’s compassion and assistance more visible to the world. STUF also actively participates in UN related organizations and promotes the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The nongovernment organization ensures that people at home and abroad know that Taiwan will never be absent from the international stage.

During the dinner, STUF introduced its international computer coding education program. The initiative is currently running in Kenya, Peru, and Saint Lucia, with plans to reach more countries. To address the war in Ukraine, STUF launched a donation drive this year. Three shipments of aid were delivered to Ukraine separately in April, June, and July. Supplies included food, medicine, medical equipment, and an ambulance.

The evening also featured the Filantrop International Talent Competition for People with Disabilities. STUF previously held the Rainbow on a Rough Road Project from 2018 to 2020 to sponsor a number of disabled performing artists to take part in the Filantrop competition, many of whom won gold and silver medals.

Since it was founded in 2009, STUF has expanded its international charity work and its UN involvement. Focusing on humanitarian aid, disaster relief, culture and education, public health, and environmental protection, STUF has launched charitable programs in 33 countries. In 2016, it was granted special consultative status by the UN Economic and Social Council.
