President Lai meets Vox Nativa Choir

In a meeting with members of the Vox Nativa Choir Taiwan, President Lai Ching-te praised the group for their recent performance at the Vatican and following tour of several European countries. He commended the choir for strengthening ties with the Holy See through indigenous music and allowing the world to hear Taiwan. President Lai expressed appreciation to the Vox Nativa Association for striving to pass on indigenous culture and broadening the horizons of children from indigenous communities. The president encouraged choir members to keep handing down traditional songs and using music to preserve indigenous culture and spirit.

President Lai thanked the choir and its principle Bukut Tasvaluan, who established a music school with a group of retired teachers in 2008, founded the choir, made recordings with the children, and went on tours overseas. The president voiced admiration for Tasvaluan's outstanding achievements over the years. Lai noted that Tasvaluan not only used education to cultivate indigenous development but employed music to foster children's self-confidence and aspirations. He added that Tasvaluan had recently established a 12-year experimental indigenous school to preserve traditional culture and broaden the horizons of indigenous children.

In closing, President Lai expressed hope that the students would continue to sing, further pass on indigenous traditions and spirit through music, achieve their dreams, and enjoy good health and success at school.
