In October, a delegation from the Taiwan Medical Women’s Association (TMWA) attended the 33rd International Congress of the Medical Women’s International Association (MWIA) in Egypt. The group engaged in in-depth exchanges with female doctors from around the world on such issues as gender equality, medical innovations, and public health. Their participation highlighted Taiwan’s substantial contributions to medicine and women’s empowerment. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs applauded the TMWA for raising Taiwan’s international profile through medical and cultural diplomacy.

At the opening of the congress on October 12, TMWA President Kao Shu-fen represented Taiwan, entering the venue holding the ROC national flag under the member state name of Taiwan. The respect shown to Taiwan was recognition of its active engagement in international medical affairs and global advocacy for women’s health. During the event, Taiwanese delegates presented academic reports and exchanged views with participants of other countries. Their contributions fully demonstrated the professional strengths of Taiwan’s female doctors in the fields of clinical research, public health, medical education, and social responsibility.
