Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim attended the opening ceremony of the 25th Convention of the Federation of Asia-Pacific Women's Associations on October 28. Speaking at the event, she said FAWA had worked for decades to unite women across the Asia-Pacific region, strengthen solidarity and cooperation, and actively promote gender equality. She added that the joint efforts of all sectors had laid the groundwork for women to play vital roles in politics, business, and society. These achievements, she said, had not only transformed communities but inspired generations of women to dream and take bold action.
Hsiao thanked FAWA for its long-term efforts in promoting gender equality, which she said was more than just a social issue but a cornerstone of national progress. “When women can contribute in various fields, society becomes stronger and more resilient,” she noted. The vice president concluded, “Let us continue to move forward together with wisdom, courage, and compassion to build a future that is more inclusive and full of hope for what women can deliver.”
